Alex Eyengho
Alex Eyengho is a renowned filmmaker and journalist spanning 26 years. Born on May 8, 1969, in Lagos, Eyengho hails from Warri, Delta State, Nigeria.
He read Mass Communication at the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra State, before proceeding for his Master in Business Administration,MBA, degree programme at the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom, and a Master in Media and Communication ,MSc,at the School of Media and Communication of the Pan-African University (now Pan-Atlantic University), Lagos.
He is currently pursuing a Master in Film Production,MSc., at the same Pan-Atlantic University, courtesy of Netflix Creative Scholarship award, which he will round off in September 2023. He also holds other certificates including the ones in Film Production and Script Writing from the Deutche Welle Akademie, Germany and The 7th Latin American Training Center (LATC) Global Audiovisual Industry Immersion Program in Los Angeles, USA,
A Media Consultant spanning 26 years, Eyengho was former Presidents of the Association of Itsekiri Performing Artistes,AIPA, and Association of Nollywood Core Producers,ANCOP, where he is currently the Secretary, Board of Trustees. He was also the longest-serving Secretary-General of the Association of Movie Producers,AMP, On May 18, 2013 in Cannes, France, Eyengho history when he was elected as a Vice President of the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF). He became the first ever African to occupy that office in FIAPF founded in 1933. FIAPF is to film production at global level what FIFA is to the game of football. He was re-elected on May 15, 2015, 2017 and 2019. He is still occupying the position.
Eyengho has produced, directed, written and or acted in many films and stage plays such Oma tsen-tsen, Nanna of the Niger Delta, Suara La, Olu Akengbuwa, Beyond Obligation, Ogodobiri, Judgment Day, Second Coming, Scruples, A Queen for Domingo, Back to Africa among others. He widely traveled, where I had participated in various film festivals, master classes, seminars and workshops as delegate or guest speaker in countries including USA, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Canada, Argentina, India, South Africa, Uganda and Morocco among others.
As an Advisory member of LIFCC, Eyengho will bring his wealth of experience to bear in the successful hosting of the forthcoming convention. Besides, he is also expected to offer valuable advice to the local LIFACC officers on appropriateness and general merits of policies and activities preceding the hosting of the convention; use his wealth of knowledge in a specific area of film and media events for guidance and benefit of LIFACC’: meet with LIFACC officers as the need arises to offer advice and guidance for the overall success of the convention. Above all, he’s expected to use his position to promote LIFACC 2023.
